The "Spyros Kyprianou"
Sports Centre, located on the outskirts of Limassol,
will host the Gymnastics events of the XIII Games of the
Small States of Europe CYPRUS 2009.
Named after the late
president of the Republic of Cyprus, the venue has
hosted numerous international sporting and cultural
events since its opening in 2005. These include FIBA
Europe All-Star Basketball Games, international
volleyball matches, the European and Commonwealth
Weightlifting Championships and, recently, the
Eurovision Youth Song Contest.
The Sports Centre
incorporates a 6,300-capacity Centre Court plus media
and telecommunications facilities, with and training
rooms, conference halls, VIP areas, restaurants and
cafeterias and office areas.
