The "Eleftheria"
Indoor Hall in Nicosia, which will host the men's and
women's Basketball competitions of the XIII Games of the
Small States of Europe CYPRUS 2009, has a capacity of 6,000
spectators and all the necessary infrastructure to
accommodate the needs of the media.
 Inaugurated in
1993, the "Eleftheria" Indoor Hall includes training and
warm-up facilities, a telecommunication centre, press
booths, VIP rooms, a cafeteria and a medical and doping
control centre. In addition to Centre Court, there are also
facilities for Table Tennis, Wrestling, Judo and Taekwondo,
and Squash, plus a dedicated weight training room.
The "Eleftheria"
Indoor Hall, part of the Makarion Complex in the Nicosia
suburb of Engomi, has been renamed "Tassos Papadopoulos", after
the late president of the Republic of Cyprus.
