The "Photo Finish" In Shooting

- The gold medal at the men’s air rifle was determined
with a “photo finish”. Asgeir Sirgurgeirsson of Iceland
won by the slightest of the margin, one tenth of a point
(0.1). With a total of 666.8 (576+90.8), he overcame
Mirko Bugli of San Marino who shot 666.7 (571+95.7). The
athlete from San Marino settled with the silver medal.
Joe
Dondelinger of Luxemburg had the best shooting in the
final (99.5) but with a total of 665.5 (566+99.5) he
settled with the bronze medal. Cypriot Neoklis
Charalampous finished fourth with 645.1 (551+94.1).
