 For the second time in the
history of the Games of the Small States of Europe (and for
the first abroad) Cyprus ousted Iceland from the top of the
medals list, amassing an impressive 34 gold.
In fact, Iceland dropped to
third place--the lowest ranking ever of the Nordic nation.
Luxembourg edged Iceland by one gold for second place,
although the Grand Duchy trailed significantly in the total.
