Malta brought the Games of
the Small States of Europe to a new organisational level in
1993, even as more sports were added to the programme.
Iceland again confirmed
their top power status, winning an impressive 36 gold medals
(compared to 26 for second-placed Cyprus and just eight for
third-placed Luxembourg)--although Cyprus bettered Iceland
in the total with 71 to 68.
